Come to The Shore

unnamed

To the mama who puts on her bathing suit to go down to the beach and looks in the mirror and isn’t sure she wants to go to the beach anymore. Come to the shore.

To the mama who sees other bodies at the beach that don’t look like theirs. Come to the shore.

To the mama who decides to leave her cover up on or shorts on because she doesn’t like the look of her thighs, arms, or soft belly. Come to the shore.

To the mama who doesn’t want to go for a walk on the beach in fear of others judging their body. Come to the shore.

To the mama who doesn’t want to play in the sand with their toddler because they don’t like the way their belly flaps over when they sit down. Come to the shore.

Your child wants you as you are. They want you and need you to play in the sand with them. They don’t see your larger arms, or softer belly. They see a strong, beautiful, loving woman whom they love more than anyone else on this earth.

To all the women who have ever felt insecure in their bodies or their bathing suit. Come to the shore, you are loved as you are, you are beautiful as you are, your body does not define your worth…and the view is always better by the shore.

xoxo,

Liz
