Let’s just say I am in for a rude awakening whenever we do go back to school. Another day of “snowed in”, at first my anxiety set in because I am used to being on the go Monday to Friday but then I realized I can just slow down and enjoy the time off…that is the beauty of snow days, there is really nowhere to go.
This quote pretty much sums it up for me…
Even Amazon wants me to be done with grad school and “read something fun”…
I have diagnosed Lucy with a Binge Eating Disorder…she didn’t eat for 2 days…then last night I gave her “breakfast” that she never ate and she sucked it down, almost gagged herself from eating so fast…then I decided to get her her “dinner” too and she housed that as well. I explained to her that starving yourself for a few days and then eating a lot really messes with your metabolism. Hopefully she learned her lesson.
Birthdays are more fun when you get a personalized picture card from your nephew. (I will be 27 on Friday…that is kinda old guys).
I am loving BodyPump these days…I usually go at 5:30am Monday mornings but due to the weather I had to attend at 5:30pm and boy is the evening crowd different then the a.m. crowd! It was packed, probably because everyone was sick of sitting on their butt’s all day.
Lucy feels safer around Tucker when he has his cone “shield” on.
I am reading a great book right now called “We Are Water” by Wally Lamb. Hoping I can finish it today!
I had a butternut squash sitting around for a few weeks and decided to roast it yesterday. Funny story about squash..one day Allie came home and said to me “is this a butternut squash Liz?” and my response was “no Allie, that is a zucchini”… we had a laugh about that last night.
Here is the recipe…
Slice a butternut squash in half, preheat oven to 400 degrees, and put a piece of tin foil on a baking sheet, place squash halves with the squash side facing up. Put about 2 tsp of butter and 2 tsp brown sugar on each side. Roast for 35 minutes then scoop out and mush it with a fork or mashed potato musher thing (don’t know the name, and I am not fancy enough to own one). Easy!
Make it a good day!
I am so glad you started blogging again! your posts always make me smile!! I just read every one since July… also- the thing about Lucy’s metabolism, tell her I need reminders sometimes too! And the squash story about Allie reminds me of finding the mythical “chestnut” at the grocery store… oh, how I miss you Liz!! Glad you are doing great… catch up soon! XOXO
